‘No justification’ for alleged US torture on Manama Island – report
Indonesia has accused the United States of allegedly torturing the five 영천출장샵men on a joint U.S.-Indonesia operation in the southern island of Manama last year.
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono last year called for an independent investigation into the alleged torture of four men in custody by the US military and security services.
According to the Justice Ministry statement issued Friday, the men, who had both alleged links to al-Qaida and had been convicted of involvement in an attack against Indonesia, had their sentences reduced to a year in a maximum security prison, while charges were dropped against two other men held for more than a year.
The government statement said the men’s cases were reviewed “in light of developments in their cases.”
